Candle in the wind
I chanced up on a magazine while I was waiting in the Saloon. As I flipped through the pages I spotted the photograph of a gentle old man who seemed to be in his late fifties or early sixties. He was Sanjit Roy better known as Bunker Roy. He had done schooling in the great Doon School and had his advanced studies in the St.Stephen’s College, Delhi.... more...

The taste of failure Failure is a word we fear most, at least in my life I was afraid to confront with failure and I took only those options where I could have a sure win. That means not even a moderate risk taker!Accepting challenges, small or big, evokes fear and the fear is about a failure and getting embarrassed in front of others. So we tend t... more...

break fast He was waiting for her out side the college canteen sitting in the rail buckling his leg down on the iron pipe for a support. He looked far sipped from his cup and enjoyed the taste of coffee. The canteen was a little far from the main college building and one has to climb up the small hilly ground to reach the place. The canteen had a f... more...

say good bye to it all... This guy was next to my room where I lived during my college. He was handsome and had long hair. Though I admired guys with long hair I had a bad perception about him since the very beginning I met him. He had sleepy eyes and found always under sedation and at times under the influence of alcohol. He never disturbed me exc... more...

20 minutes walk…………. A daily walk can rejuvenate our muscles and its essential for a healthy body too. Some start the practice of walking after a cardiac arrest. Till then these folks were literally least bothered about their physical fitness. Some do this to make their body fit and they are more conscious about the athletic appearance. And these p... more...

@ the coffee shop.. It’s a relief to have a cup of Coffee just after the work and unwind after the day’s cumbersome work. For some it’s a life style and for others it’s a habit. Coffee shops give an ambience that is truly unique. It’s a good place to hang out with friends and also a good spot where you could mull over unlimited. I don’t know when I... more...

Memoir “Make sure we move with you “– a caption quite known to ‘Reader’s Digest’ readers to inform the customer service of the new address while shifting residence. For me I thought this would never be applicable. Because the home I lived was a part of my life and I could not think of moving from that, the circumstances too were not demanding that.... more...

Days It means a lot!    Someone sent me this message: “I am Rakhee how you you?” (her name changed :). I thought there was some grammatical error! Now I know there was none! And I am loving it, when I say:  I have 7 Rakhees, how are you? :)  From the childhood, the more number of Rakhees we had, the luckier we were. And those who didn’t have sister...  more...

BE A RIGHT PERSON
When the Person Is RightOne rainy Sunday afternoon, a little boy was bored and his father was sleepy. The father decided to create an activity to keep the kid busy. So, he found in the morning newspaper a large map of the world. He took scissors and cut it into a good many irregular shapes like a jigsaw puzzle. Then he said to his son, "See if you ...  more...

My family and other animals-Part 1
Gerald Durrell was a favourite author of mine in my childhood, the reason being that I could so easily relate to the pictures of a household where animals walked in and out amongst the humans,  each  one of the former having a personality as distinct as that of the latter.     From as far back as I can remember, we had dogs at home. My father ...  more...
